DescriptionThe section runs along an old dirt road that leads from the ‘Casa da Cré’ to an old quarry, covered with undergrowth, located at the bottom of the valley. The base of the section is formed by volcanic conglomerate, belonging to the underlying Anjos Complex. A sequence of strongly bioturbated lithic sandstones superimposes the erosional relief on the conglomerate. The occurrence of successive erosional hiatuses, pebble seams and shell bedding documents reworking and transport, probably related to storms. The section ends with a bioclastic lithic sandstone with rhodoliths, covered by a massive layer of volcanoclastic conglomerate of the Facho-Pico Alto Complex.
