The second edition of the international workshop Palaeontology in Atlantic Islands – Canary Islands (2PAI-CAN) took place between 14 and 31 October 2023, on the islands of Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Lanzarote, and included the participation of a multidisciplinary international team, with researchers, technicians and students from six different institutions.

2PAI-CAN made it possible to expand the palaeontological knowledge on these islands, through visits to 25 fossiliferous outcrops/ palaeosites of interest, as well as the study of the palaeontological collections deposited at the University of Las Palmas (Gran Canaria) and at the Museo de Ciencias Naturales (Tenerife). There was also an opportunity to exchange knowledge and new ideas, through oral communications at these two institutions, including the PALEOMAC2023 lecture series (Tenerife, 23-24 October).
